John Carter Simmons is a Strategic Communications student at Ouachita Baptist University pursuing minors in Graphic Design and Business Administration. His work focuses on digital storytelling, social media strategy, and visual communication. Through experience creating content for the university’s TikTok team and serving as Editor of the Arts Engagement page for the campus newspaper, The Signal, John has developed a strong foundation in audience engagement, content creation, and media production.
John also has professional experience in digital media and design through a graphic design and social media internship with Calvary Baptist Church, where he created visual graphics, filmed and edited video content, and documented events through photography and videography. His technical skills include Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and Premiere, along with certification in Google Analytics. These tools allow him to combine creative design with data-informed communication strategies.
In addition to his media experience, John has developed strong customer service and teamwork skills through roles in fitness and hospitality environments. These experiences have strengthened his ability to communicate effectively with diverse audiences, work in fast-paced settings, and collaborate with teams to complete projects under tight deadlines. He is passionate about using creative media and strategic communication to connect with audiences and build meaningful brand stories.
